I am very happy to stock these bags; they are made by the mothers of young people with Downs Syndrome attending the AWMD project in Mysore, Southern India. Both the mothers and the young people are often treated badly by others and therefore struggle to make a living. By attending this project the mothers learn how to look after their children, the young people are trained to be more independent and they all can make items to be sold and create an income they would otherwise be denied. My mark up on these bags is very low so that I can hopefully keep supporting the project.
The bags are made from cotton and lined with the same fabric. They are fastened with a zip and have an interior zipped pocket and two strong shoulder straps.
They measure about 34 cms by 30cms, although some are larger.
